Greg Aspinall is the Environment Lead and North Islands sales manager for Agrifeeds.
With a background in the dairy and compound feed industry, Greg’s move to Agrifeeds in 2018 was a natural step. He was particularly interested in taking on the newly created role of Environment Lead as he believes sustainability is key to the future of the agricultural sector.
As one of the largest stock feed suppliers in the country, Agrifeeds supplies an extensive range of quality imported and domestically-sourced animal feed and minerals New Zealand wide.
Greg’s Environment Lead role at Agrifeeds encompasses navigating new sustainability regulations and establishing sustainable credentials of dairy feeds within New Zealand’s new regulatory frameworks.
“Sustainability has shifted from hypothetical to hypercritical element of the agricultural sector’s future and we can be part of the solution,” Greg says.
He believes the industry can create sustainable models and needs to work together to rise to the challenge now to put the industry on the path to prosperity.
“There is so much innovation available for New Zealand farmers to create sustainable models for the future. By investing in science, people and technology. It’s essential we bridge knowledge gaps now to protect the feed sector long-term.”
“The most exciting thing is that rising to the challenge now will put the Feed sector and NZ farmers on a pathway to prosperity and uphold high public expectations of the sector.”
Greg has a Bachelor of Commerce in Business and a Masters in Agribusiness. As well as being on the board of the NZFMA, he is involved in the community as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for Saint Joseph’s School in Matamata.
